Writing
Our writing adventure has taken us to a relaxing time called writers workshop. During writers workshop we discuss the different types of writing (narrative, informational, and opinion). After class discussions we turn on our "thinking" music to begin practicing our writing skills.
First Quarter
Students should be drawing a picture to represent their thoughts. Students should be writing the first sound heard in a word.
Second Quarter
Students should be writing at least the beginning and ending sounds heard in a word. Students should also be drawing and labeling a picture to support their writing.
Third Quarter
Students should be writing all sounds heard in a word. Students should also be drawing and labeling a detailed picture to support their writing.
Fourth Quarter
Students should be writing all sounds heard in a words and using their word wall to spell sightwords. Students should be using a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence and the word "I". Students should be drawing and labeling a picture to support their writing.
